Each Initiative/Release can have a Budget. This Budget is made of Budget lines that can be:
- Either OPEX or CAPEX
- May be part of a Budget Bucket
A Budget Bucket is simply an “amount of money” (most of the time, it's a department yearly Budget or portfolio Budget) that can be used by the Budget of the Initiatives/Releases.
To measure the financial performance of an Initiative, the Budget is compared to a Forecast. A Forecast is made of Work Orders than can be:
- Either not yet engaged: they are named “Costs to complete”
- Already engaged (e.g. a commitment has been given or/and invoices already paid)
